Cruise line announces thrill-seeking job opportunity
Cruise line Royal Caribbean has revealed a once-in-lifetime career opportunity for thrill seekers.
Aside from travelling on one of the line’s ships, the successful applicant will be tasked with taking Royal Caribbean’s shore excursion activities to a new level by engaging in activities like hot air balloon rides and white water rafting.
The job, which is described as a “Shore Explorer Apprentice-ship”, pays a salary of £100,000. It will require the successful applicant to seek out and try new and extraordinary onshore activities as he or she travels to various destinations around the world on the line’s fleet of luxury ships.
The successful applicant will then need to relay their experiences through the cruise line’s Insta-Stories, Instagram and IGTV pages. They will also get an early look at Perfect Day at CocoCay, Royal Caribbean’s private island that is set to open in May this year.
A spokesperson for the cruise line said it intended the new role to expand its already large selection of breath-taking excursion experiences that it offers on its cruise holidays, such as crossing glaciers on foot and taking hot air balloon rides.
Anyone interested in the job should apply through Royal Caribbean’s Instagram page by sharing a favourite travel experience through pictures or video. The cruise line says it is looking for someone that is hungry for new adventures but who can also capture the experiences and relay them effectively through social media. The successful applicant will be picked by an independent panel of judges.
