Imagine the Italian countryside. Now imagine floating silently over it. Look upon Central Italy. See the historical red terracotta roofs rising from the small towns to meet your downward gaze. The castles of Tuscany are standing in salutation as they stand guard over the ages. The Renaissance Villas, that share a long history, greet you as you glide by. This is the region that Leonardo was from. The scenery is picturesque. The breeze blows gently over your face, reminding you that you are drifting through the sky in a Hot Air Balloon flights in hot air balloon balloon rides hot air balloon. Depending on the conditions, a balloon trip that started in Tavernelle, Tuscany, could last from 45 minutes to an hour and a half.

Cappadocia, Turkey

Get a grand view of the “Fairy chimney Rocks” and the rock cut temples from above. Take a sunrise balloon ride over the Turkish region. Flights last from one hour to about an hour and a half depending on your flight plan options. What you may see on this tour, besides the natural stone work, are a variety of colorful flowers in summertime, autumn grapes, winter snow and, in the springtime, you can take in the beauty of the miniature poppies. Though the Goreme boasts some fine local wine, the balloon company there will offer you a champagne toast and a commemorative flight certificate.

Yangshuo County, Guilin, China

When it comes to ballooning, people sometimes refer to the scenery as “breath-taking”. In Yangshao, the operators of Fact Tours mean it. You can soar over 1,500 meters above the Karst scenery. Take in the hundreds of vertical hillsides and rivers. The spectacular tours last from one to one and a half hours and depart from Hongqi, China. Though “Hongqi” means “red flag”, this sky tour of some of the 70,000 limestone Karst towers is a “GO”. Don’t miss the elephants drinking nearby on Elephant Trunk Hill. The limestone Karst landscape, from high above, will inspire awe. It is recommended that one be in good health before embarking.

Egypt Pyramids

Have you ever seen the sunrise over the Valley of the Kings? See the ancient pyramids from the same vantage point that the ancient Egyptian Sun God would have seen it from – a “boat” in the sky. The panoramic view of the ruins and temples of Luxor, referred to as the world’s largest outdoor museum,is an amazing one no matter where you stand. Observing the historic region from the air would make it much more memorable. See the Nile and the ancient temples. Soaring past the Temple of Amenhotep the Third, you can even see the colossal statues still standing today. Ballooning over Egypt will be a trip that you will never forget.

Kenya Safari

No trip to Kenya would be complete without a safari. A safari from the sky is the perfect way to see the drama of nature unfold. You can float along the breeze, largely unnoticed by the creatures of the region. Take pictures or videos of the elephants, lions, leopards or rhinos, should you see any on your trip. No matter what animals you see on your trip, floating high above the grasslands will fill your heart and mind with views of the natural world in a way that no other African safari could compete with. After your flight, you can enjoy a full breakfast complete with Champagne should you prefer.
