Established in 1987 by experienced commercial balloonists Jon Rudoni and Andy Rawson, the company now has the ability to fly 4000 thousand passengers each year and owns a fleet of ten balloons. As a family business we are passionate about ballooning, and offer our customers an unrivalled service. Long before we ever considered a commercial enterprise, we were ballooning for pleasure at our own expense!

All of our aircrew hold unrestricted commercial pilot's licences, issued by the Civil Aviation Authority, and each pilot has a minimum of 1000 hours flying balloons. An annual flight examination and medical for every pilot ensures continuing high regard for passenger safety. You can trust to our experience! Our pleasure flight balloons are classified as Public Transport Category aircraft, which means that they are granted a certificate when manufactured by the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA). That certificate is revalidated after every 100 hours of flight (or 12 months - whichever comes first), when the balloon is carefully inspected by CAA approved technicians. Your safety is ultimately our safety!

Similarly, Wickers World is issued an Air Operators Certificate (AOC) by the CAA each year. This follows a site visit and rigorous inspection by the CAA's auditors. Our individual AOC licence number is BL027. So, if you are intending to buy a voucher, and you are looking for the best in quality, experience and service, instead of free gifts or other sales gimmicks, take note of the following key points that separate us from our competitors! No other company makes as many flights as we do in this region. This becomes so important when you want to book a date for your flight. Some of our competitors advertise loads of launch sites, but fail to tell you that they have only one or two balloons trying to cover all those venues! We only fly from the most beautiful and prestigious launch sites throughout the region. Your flight is a special occasion, and deserves to be from a scenic and exclusive location. Our venues are carefully selected to give a fabulous backdrop to each launch we make. We only employ fully qualified commercial pilots with more than 1000 flying hours each. There's no substitute for experience! We remember that the reputation of our business rides on every flight we make. Our flights are AT LEAST one hour in duration - and usually closer to an hour and a half. Most balloon companies advertise flights of "about an hour". Not us! Ours are guaranteed to be AT LEAST one hour, which could mean an extra 25% duration over some of our competitor's flights! We'll beat anybody on price by £5 per passenger - just call if you can find a flight for less. Our price guarantee is simple. Find an equivalent flight for less within 50 miles, and we'll beat the price by a fiver per passenger! We monitor prices carefully, and know that we offer the best value. Our company is a Civil Aviation Authority certified operation, established for 20 years. Wickers World was one of the first UK balloon companies to be granted an Air Operators Certificate. We are now audited annually by the CAA to ensure standards are consistenly high..
